I consider this a must read for anyone interested in Americas Foreign policy.
Defense Ministerial Summit of the Americas, ever heard of it, I bet not. I have long complained about the lack of attention paid to Latin America by this administration and the virtual none existent coverage from the press. In fact we the people just don’t seem to care that much about our own Hemisphere.
From the essay and VERY telling “”For example, in the past decade, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has significantly expanded its commercial presence in the region by providing gifts and investing in projects in the Caribbean at a level that is way out of proportion to the value of the region to China as a market or a source of commodities.””
Again I consider this a must read.
